Crazy kitsuke session

Forgive not too much proffessional pics. It`s the first attempt to put up kimono in not so much formal and classic way as so far in my kitsuke adventure.
Inspired by some cute poses from the site  I've tried to follow crazy idea to use kimono in funny way:)
Love tsumugi komon kimono, I hope to have much more chance for funny outfit using these versatile kimono.

Kimono meeting in Cracow

Hello, I`d like to show you our first kimono meeting in Kimono de jack formula in Poland.
We met in Cracow in Southern Poland, old capital city. This is place is so wonderful and there is amazing international atmosphere. Initiator of the idea was Ania ((in strawberry yukata). She is is master of tea ceremony and owing her efforts we could visit Japanese cultural centre Manggha for free. Walking through streets of the Old Town was really funny, people smiled seeing us. When we reached the main place of Cravow- the Old Marketplace, we melted in the international crowd of visitors. After quick photo session under an Adam Mickiewicz`s monument we went to the sushii restaurant and have a lot of fun.
It was really great experience and really hudge challenge to wear a kimono or even yukata in such hot day! But we hope we can do it more often!!!

On these photos there is wonderful view where can be seen  something really old- Wawel Castle (the old seat of Polish Kings)  on the right river bank and  something quite new - a building of the Japanese Muzeum Manggha on the left.

Busy winter evening in kimono

I often cooperate with local Cultural Centre at my neighborhood and this time they invited me to prepare Japanese evening. I was telling about my kimono passion and about secrets of Karyukai, next I showed how to put a kimoo of course:)
Cause of great frost and  severe winter weather outside I decided to wear my soft grey chirimen komon with lovely frozen flowers motif. To warm up the look I used my deep rose fukuro obi and  played with obijime shape creating rose flower with a handmade brooch.
I think the audience were glad and I am happy taking experience based on by best passion even if showing kitsuke on model was tough job.

Tsumugi awase

I really  like tsumugi silk. It is so versatile and durable. I`ve finally found something interesting for my only one tsumugi kimono for neat and interesting ensemble. Lovely metallic ochre yellow and brown fukuro obi is perfect and the most beautiful subdued obijime I`ve ever had, newest purchase from ebay.
Putting on this kimono is real challange for me, it`s too long to skip ohashiori fold and too short to do it perfectly, uffff. I wasted about 1.5 hour to do it more or less as I like it:P

my first bingata like kimono

I am fell in love with these springy and aiy patterns. Oryginal bingata are so elaborated and sophisticated that I`m able to get only bingata style komon only, but it is enough to be pleased and happy with their charm.

I did it

....with dediction to Shino San.

It is my first kimono!!!!!!

Kimono made of silk with damask weave, woven into a pattern of cherry blossom, partly dyed shibori technique (looped). It is a type of kimono komon (fine pattern evenly distributed over the entire surface). Comes with a silk belt nagoya obi, pattern seigaiha (wave of concentric arcs).

* label on the pillow nicely complements the all ensemble :D
